🧮 What subjects and levels do you tutor?

I offer one-to-one maths tutoring for:

  • KS3 (Years 7–9)

  • GCSE Maths (including Functional Skills)

  • Level 2 Additional Maths

  • A Level Maths

  • A Level Further Maths

  • Adult learners returning to maths

🕒 How long are the tutoring sessions?

Each session lasts 60 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged if needed — just let me know.

💻 Do you offer online or in-person lessons?

Yes! You can choose:

  • Online sessions via Zoom (includes screen sharing and interactive whiteboard)

  • In-person sessions at your home (within a reasonable distance from L8)

  • In-person sessions at my home in L8 2XH (full address provided after booking)

If you come to me or book an online session, you pay the standard rate.
If I travel to your home, there is a £5 additional charge to cover time and travel.

While I offer both formats, I’ve found that in-person sessions tend to be more effective. Certain maths skills — such as using mathematical tools like a compass or protractor — are harder to teach accurately online. In-person sessions also tend to support better focus and engagement, especially for younger students.

📍 Where are you based?

I’m based in Liverpool (postcode L8 2XH). In-person sessions can take place at my home or yours if you’re within a reasonable distance.
The full address will be provided after booking is confirmed.

💰 How much do sessions cost?

Prices vary depending on the level of study and whether the session is online, at my home, or at yours.

🧾 How do I book a session?

Just visit the Booking page to choose a time that works for you. Once you’ve submitted your request, I’ll send you the payment details.

💳 How do I pay?

  • Sessions must be paid for in advance. Your slot is not confirmed until payment has been received.

  • Payment is typically via bank transfer.

  • You may also pay in cash if booking 5 sessions in advance.

  • You’ll receive a 5% discount for booking a block of 5 sessions, whether paying by bank transfer or cash.

🔄 Can I cancel or reschedule a session?

  • If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, you will forfeit the session fee.

  • If we’re able to reschedule within the same working week, I’m happy to rearrange at no extra cost.

  • If I need to cancel (very rarely), I’ll give you as much notice as possible and offer a full refund or reschedule, whichever you prefer.

🎓 What qualifications do you have?

I have a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Teaching (Distinction) and nearly 20 years of experience teaching maths in UK high schools and grammar schools. I’m passionate about helping students at all levels gain confidence and reach their full potential.

🧠 What if I’m not confident in maths?

That’s totally okay — lots of students feel the same! I’ll tailor sessions to your pace and needs, and help you build skills gradually in a supportive, no-pressure environment.
